About me

Curiosity has been the through-line.

From modifying game files to building production AI systems, I have always learned best by opening things up, understanding how they work, and making them more useful.

Across cultures

I grew up and studied across Taiwan, New Zealand, and Australia before returning to Taiwan in 2025. Moving between languages and cultures taught me to adapt quickly, understand different points of view, and communicate with people whose assumptions may not match my own.

Learning by tinkering

My interest in programming began with video games: modifying files, installing mods, examining memory values, and adjusting scripts. Good tutorials were harder to find then, so progress meant testing an idea, observing what changed, and working backwards toward the logic. That habit of patient investigation still shapes how I debug today.

People before products

While studying Computer Science and Technology at the University of Sydney, I chose to work in customer-facing roles to strengthen my communication skills. That experience made me more attentive to what people actually need instead of relying solely on a specification.

Outside work, I built tools for gaming streamers: a giveaway wheel, chat integrations, and interactive UI experiments. Those projects led me through APIs, VPS deployment, domains, TLS certificates, and several JavaScript frameworks, eventually turning a long-running interest into a software career.

From frontend to AI products

I entered the industry as a frontend engineer, but a small team quickly expanded my scope into backend services, databases, cloud infrastructure, and AI applications. I have since shipped automated tagging and summarization, rebuilt a travel RAG system, and worked on asynchronous processing, multi-turn conversation, structured outputs, and high-volume email delivery.

The part I enjoy most is making model capability survive contact with the real world: messy data, latency, cost, reliability, and user expectations. My direction is to keep deepening that work as an AI application engineer while bringing the product sense and interface craft of my frontend background with me.
